Our Friday singing group had double cause for celebration in May as we marked Brian’s 80th and Nicky’s 70th birthdays with cake, songs, and good company.
After our usual singing session, we surprised Brian and Nicky with a decorated cake and a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The afternoon was filled with laughter, extra biscuits, and an exceptional Victoria sponge.
Nicky chose to mark her 70th birthday by asking friends and family to donate to Age UK Cheshire instead of giving gifts. Her fundraising efforts raised an impressive £2,640 for the charity.
“I wanted my birthday to make a difference,” Nicky explained. “We all support each other here, and I wanted to extend that support to others in our community.”
We regularly celebrate members’ birthdays at our singing group – just let Pat know if you have one coming up. The group meets every Friday from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at St Columba’s Church Hall.
New members always welcome – no singing experience necessary!
