We had a wonderful afternoon tea yesterday for Parkinson’s UK. Sooo many lovely ladies attended and gave generously to the raffle and “stand up bingo” – as well as donating raffle prizes and lovely cakes, thank you all. It was the culmination of lots of planning on my part, but it couldn’t have happened without my wonderful, supportive, long-suffering hubbie Jim, such a trooper, I definitely couldn’t manage without him. There were several people who helped on the day and I’m very grateful to them – but particularly the wonderful Elaine who worked so hard all day in very hot conditions, my Sis Paula and my bestie Caroline. Thank you ladies, you are such a personal support to me and I am forever grateful that you are in my life and supporting me on my Parkinson’s journey. I know I take on tasks which are “full on” but without all of your help it just wouldn’t happen.
You all know what I’m about and why I reluctantly took on the role as Chair of Parkinson’s UK – Chester & District Branch. I am determined to raise awareness of this hideous disease and improve the lives of our wonderful Branch members, many of whom rely totally on our activities. And of course, hopefully one day there will be a cure and we won’t have to talk about Parkinson’s anymore – but until that day comes, expect to hear more from me!!!
The result – we made an amazing £540!!! ![]()
